Cooper Green is committed to helping you get the healthcare you need. To make it easier for you to get to your appointments, we offer our patients transportation to and from:
- Medical appointments at Cooper Green
- Medical appointments at another facility that you were referred to by Cooper Green
- Your preferred pharmacy
Ways to request transportation
- If you already have an appointment, please call 205-930-3392 or 205-757-8419 at least five business day (Monday through Friday) before your scheduled visit. To request transportation, you must have a confirmed appointment at Cooper Green or a confirmed referral appointment outside of Cooper Green. Please be prepared to tell us the date, time, and location of your appointment. Also, if you will need to pick up a prescription on the way home from your appointment, let us know ahead of the appointment so we can schedule it.
- If you need to make an appointment and know that you’ll need transportation, please call our Scheduling Department at 205-930-3350 to schedule your visit, and let them know that you will need a ride.
- If you only need a ride to and from the Cooper Green pharmacy, please call 205-930-3392 or 205-757-8419
How the service works
- We will arrange transportation to and from the appointment or pharmacy. If you only need transportation one way, please let us know when requesting the ride.
- You will be picked up one hour before your scheduled appointment.
- You will be picked up for your return home one hour after your appointment time.
- You will receive a reminder call shortly before it’s time to pick you up for your appointment.
- If you need to pick up a prescription at a pharmacy after your appointment, your driver will stop at your preferred pharmacy during the ride home.
- If your appointment time or date changes at any time, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can schedule your ride correctly.
Cancellation and no-show policy
Transportation services are a shared resource for all patients, so it’s important to be aware of the rules below. If you need to cancel a scheduled ride to or from your appointment, please call 205-930-3392 or 205-757-8419 as soon as possible and at least 24 hours before the appointment.
Important: You will lose access to transportation if:
- You cancel a ride three times.
- You do not show up for a scheduled ride to or from the appointment.
- You cancel a ride less than 24 hours from your scheduled appointment.
- You receive a ride to an appointment but you do not show up to the ride home.
- You’re not ready to leave at the scheduled pickup time.
- You demonstrate inappropriate behavior or misconduct toward staff members or patients on the ride with you.
Helpful tips
- Call us to schedule your ride as early as possible.
- Be ready at your pickup time to avoid delays.
